Try Something New

Im rather new to the world of Blogging but a few of my friends seem to enjoy it I thought - why not Try Something New !  Let me tell you a little something about me first.
I am a freelance Hairdresser specialising in Weddings in the North West of England www.weddinghair.webeden.co.uk
I design and make my own jewellery as Susuz Designs you can find me on Face book.
I am fairly new to the world of jewellery making but it has been a fun and exciting learning curve.  I was introduced a year ago to an on line group in Face book called Beadbuddies. Since then I haven't looked back.  I have tried all sorts of beading using specs of dust seed beads, weaving and stringing even a bit of chain maille.
More recently I have rediscovered a craft from my youth. Macrame only its got smaller!! Like most people I started with eh Shamballa craze but I stepped slightly to the left and with help from my friend Hilary I went from  4 stands to 6 then 12 stranded cuffs using all sorts of knots and beads.  Of course Hilary is up to 36 strands but hey its something to aspire to.

Hilary and I have both struggled to find good Micro Macrame suppliers in the UK.  Frustrated Hilary decided to open her own on line shop and July proudly saw its opening.  www.knottingways.co.uk You really must take a look.  We got a bit carried away when looking for stock and took another step to the left with Leather.  Knotting Ways now stocks the most beautiful Regaliz Leather and Zantac findings.  I have yet another order on the way and am looking forward to making up some unisex stylish leather bracelets.

Anyway that's enough for now.... I have pictures I must find some and post here. But I have plenty to say about a few other things I do within the online Beadbudies group like finding homes for Dragons rescued by The Dragon Sanctuary and don't get me started on the Absolute Bead monthly challenges!
